Instead of gathering everyone into yet another meeting, teams create a brainstorming sprint that runs for 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or even a full week. Participants contribute ideas whenever inspiration strikes, and every contribution is shown under a playful animal alias rather than a real name.
How It Works
Every sprint begins with a challenge, usually framed as a simple:
How might we...?
From there, participants can contribute in several ways:
- Root ideas — completely new standalone ideas.
- Replies — discussion, feedback, and clarification attached to an idea.
- Derived ideas — new concepts inspired by an existing idea.
- Wildcard prompts — provocative prompts that challenge assumptions and encourage fresh thinking.
When the sprint closes, participants vote anonymously on the strongest ideas. The result is a ranked set of solutions informed by the entire team rather than dominated by a handful of voices.
